About Musica Coloris

The art of music, beautifully bound.

The Edition

Musica Coloris Edition is a vibrant publishing initiative dedicated to preserving and revitalizing the musical heritage of Romanian composers. With a focus on critical and performance-ready editions, it brings to light the works of iconic figures such as George Enescu, Sigismund Toduță, and Dinu Lipatti, offering meticulously edited scores that honor both historical accuracy and modern interpretive needs. Beyond its archival mission, Musica Coloris also champions contemporary arrangements—especially for wind quintet and accordion—bridging tradition and innovation. Each publication is crafted with the performer in mind, making Romanian music more accessible to ensembles and educators worldwide, and ensuring that these voices continue to resonate on today’s concert stages.

Personal Life

I’m Ștefan Diaconu, a Romanian flutist, conductor, and arranger with a deep love for sound in all its forms. My journey began in Rădăuți, where I first touched the piano at six and fell in love with the flute at ten. Since then, I’ve studied in Bucharest, Copenhagen, and Odense, always chasing the nuance between precision and poetry. Whether I’m on stage performing, in the studio editing Enescu’s symphonies, or recording Lipatti’s wind works with the V Coloris Quintet, my goal is the same: to make music that breathes, that speaks, that stays. I believe music should feel like memory—familiar, fleeting, and full of meaning.
