The Six Pieces for Solo Oboe, composed in 1981 by Sigismund Toduță and dedicated to oboist Aurel Marc, were premiered on November 9, 1982, in Cluj-Napoca. The work was published in 2001 by Arpeggione Publishing, in an edition curated by Marc himself. Designed as miniatures, the pieces can be performed in any order chosen by the interpreter. In contrast, …for dancing introduces continuous motion around the second interval, with a gradual tempo acceleration leading to the instrument’s upper register, ending the cycle with energy and virtuosity.
